When his 1st films proved to exist as pack-professional flops, Zemeckis directed Romancing the Stone starring Michael Douglas. a film was a large profits, & Zemeckis went in to direct the Back to the Future trilogy of films. These films established him as a leading director within Hollywood.

He is known for his innovative utilize of special effects, especially in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, which combined live action seamlessly using traditional animation, and Forrest Gump, in which he positioned Tom Hanks in scenes with easily-known historical numbers such as John F. Kennedy. His virtually all recent task, 2004's The Polar Express, based on them's book by Chris Van Allsburg, utilized the radical computer animation technique known as performance capture, whereby a movements of the actors come captured digitally & utilized when the basis for the alive characters.
